On Tuesday, September 7 we go back to Tee Times due to the Monday holiday. Tee times start at 5:00 pm. Please phone ahead for a time if you can or come down as soon as possible and we will just keep sending you until every lady is out. The sponsor for this night is Pyramid Corporation. Unfortunately Pyramid representative, Rhonda Burns will be unable to attend. Thanks Rhonda and Pyramid Corporation for supporting Ladies Golf. I believe this is your 3rd year.
Last Monday, August 30 we had a very nice night, cloudy but nice. We had a fairly good turn out with 35 ladies attending. This night was a shared sponsor night because Synergy Credit Union got rained out the previous week and so Silverwood Toyota graciously agreed to share their night with Synergy. Thank you to George Hawrylak of Silverwood Toyota and Synergy Credit Union for your flexibility. Anita Kuffert and Susanne McDuff joined us from Synergy Credit Union and I understand they played a scramble and had a fun time. Thanks for joining us ladies. We had two new comers August 30 welcome to Chantelle Cote and Casey Hunter. Both ladies received a sleeve of balls.
Needless to say we had many, many door prizes to hand out. The game was Bingo and 3 groups of ladies won balls. We also had 6 hole prizes - 4 Long Putt holes - winners were Brenda Turcotte, Sarah Inglis, Kelsey Eger won hole 12 and 18. The 2 Closest to the Hole prize winners were Vickie Lamb and Joanne Fournier. Weatherford Artificial Lift Systems supplied our Bingo game prize balls while Silverwood Toyota provided our hole prize balls. Thank you very much to both.
Thank you to Laurie Hnatuk and Laurie McAskill for convening Ladies' Nights for the month of August. You did a great job. I am so glad we had people that volunteered to take on different months this season. It really made my job a snap.
Congratulations goes out to Irene Oddan who won a Silver and Bronze Medal. On May 15th, Irene played golf in the district playoff for the Senior Fitness Games (also known as the 55+ games) that were held in Rosetown. In Rosetown she qualified to compete in the Provincial Senior Fitness Games to be held in Regina on July 6th & 7th. At these provincials Irene then won a silver medal, which qualified her to compete at the National Senior Fitness Games in Brockville, Ontario on August 25th - 29th. At these National Senior Fitness Games, Irene won a bronze medal. Well done Irene.

Golf can best be defined as an endless series of tragedies obscured by the occasional miracle, followed by a good bottle of beer?
